Consumer-band BPSK 7.2kbps PLM PICtailÔ Plus Daughter Board development kit

Power Line Communication (PLC) is a cost effective method for enabling easy to install, easy to use energy use monitoring systems in the home/office environment. Inexpensive, programmable Power Line Modems (PLMs) provide the necessary signal transmit/receive interface between the appliance and the network. The just-released Consumer-band BPSK 7.2kbps PLM PICtail

Plus Daughter Board development kit gives designers everything needed to develop a full-feature power line modem for consumer frequency designs. Based on the scalable dsPIC33F family, this low-cost modem reference design delivers a solution that is:

  • Robust –the BPSK modulation scheme is particularly suited to the noisy environment of home wiring systems.
  • Flexible – data rates are software controllable
  • Comprehensive - models all of the typical communication architectures
  • Complete – royalty-free schematics, demo code and software in source-code format, and is supported by the free MPLAB® IDE.
